Final settlement delivery checklist
Use this checklist when final salary, commission or another approved amount becomes ready after somebody leaves. It concerns delivery and records, not the legal calculation of a settlement.
Confirm the final statement
- The true departure date remains accurate.
- The person appears on a separate unsettled-recipient list where appropriate.
- Employer, settlement period and payment type are identifiable.
- The amount has completed the existing calculation and approval process.
- A personal delivery address remains under the former employee's control.
Deliver and review
- The preview contains the correct person, period and version.
- The recipient knows what the final statement explains.
- Acknowledgment is requested only according to the actual process.
- Missing receipt is investigated using the original batch reference.
- Actual payment is recorded separately from statement delivery.
Preserve the usable record
- Required distribution or acknowledgment information has been retrieved and inspected.
- Any correction is linked to its earlier version.
- Historical access and service-exit conditions have been confirmed where needed.
Example: A worker leaves at the end of one period; a commission amount is approved later. The later statement identifies the commission period and amount type, goes to a verified personal address and is kept with its own delivery record. It does not inaccurately make the worker currently employed or state that acknowledgment proves payment.
