Standard Answers

What is the difference between delivered, opened and acknowledged?

Delivery, opening and acknowledgment describe different events and should be reviewed separately.

How to apply the answer

Delivered concerns message arrival; opened concerns access; acknowledgment concerns the particular employee action or configured rule. Keep those events separate when deciding what a record proves.

A person may receive a message without opening it, open a statement without confirming it, or have a system-applied status without personal action. Diagnose the corresponding issue rather than applying one generic reminder to everyone.

Choose the event your organization needs to record and inspect the available fields. None of these statuses is automatically a bank-payment receipt, identity certificate or guarantee about the outcome of a dispute.

How should delivery and acknowledgment events be used?

Use delivery records to investigate message arrival, opening to understand access, and active acknowledgment to record the requested employee action. Label automatic events separately. Decide what must be demonstrated before choosing a status; a completed task label alone can conceal important differences.
