Employee departures

A truthful departure status and a reachable final-statement route should coexist.

Final wages or commission may be approved after an employee leaves. Maintain an unsettled-recipient list without treating the person as still employed simply to preserve access. A former workplace inbox may no longer be a usable personal route.

Issue the approved final statement with employer, period and payment type, collect the appropriate action and preserve a usable record. Keep bank payment separate and verify historical-access conditions rather than promising indefinite retrieval.

A sensible starting sequence

  1. Identify the actual recipient, approved period and people responsible for preparation and sending.
  2. Test the conditions described above with a small representative group.
  3. Separate successful actions from requirements that remain unverified.
  4. Check a usable record and decide whether to expand, retest or retain the existing route.
